MOBAIKAR EAST INDIAN COMMITTEE organised the 3^rd
AGERA CHA SAN 2011 celebration at CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL,
DEIRA -  DUBAI , UAE on Friday, 21^ST  Oct.  2011.  Around 350 guests
mostly East Indians from all the 7 Emirates and a few from abroad came
together to celebrate AGERA CHA SAN 2011. 

Thanksgiving masses were offered on Friday, at St. Mary’s Church, Dubai,  
St.  Michael’s Church, Sharjah and St. Mary’s Church,  Al Ain.

The celebrations started with the traditional welcome  of  the chief guests
by ladies beautifully dressed in their traditional East Indian ‘Lugra’ and the
brass band, thanksgiving prayer were offered by Fr Terence Murray,
followed by the Agera opening chorus.

The guests were kept entertained by MC’s Neil Pereira and Wendyl
D’souza.The East Indian brass band Dhankya Mani’ and well known
DJ's Bosco & Shawn kept the crowd on their toes. Guest enjoyed a
sumptuous lunch including eastindian specialties like Pork Vindaloo,
Fugias and Wedding pickle. It was a fun filled day with lots of
goodies, loads of gifts, prizes and surprises for the big and small alike.
Celebrations went on till late evening and the crowds enjoyed to
their best.   

It was a great pleasure having special guest from Mumbai. A special
thank you to the chief guests Mr. & Mrs. Gordon D'Souza, the
President of Bombay Catholic Sabah & editor of Christian
SPOTLIGHT, Mrs. Daphne Warapen, a live wire social worker
from Mumbai, taking up peoples issues to the civil authorities in
the Bandra/Khar area, Mr. Anselm Pereira, the first eastindian
to get the OBC certificate and Fr. Terence Murray who blessed
our celebrations.

We thank all those who joined us in the celebrations and making
it such a grand event. We appreciate the hard work and efforts of
all the committee members and the wonderful band
DHANKYAMANI.   We thank all our sponsors for their kind
support and all who helped us in organizing this celebration.
